The couple met in Svalbard in 1999, where they both worked as chefs, and already in 2010 they opened the doors of the original Restaurant Smak in Bodø. Since 2017 they have continued their restaurant vision in Tromsø, first in Skippergata and now in new, elegant premises at Kræmer Brygge. Their experience and dedication to the craft are clearly evident in Smak's atmospheric atmosphere and impressive dishes.
Philosophy & Ideology sweet
Philosophy Restaurant Smak's philosophy is rooted in sustainability, local collaboration and respect for the rhythms of the season. Our ingredients come from the local area, including veal from Målselv, fish from Dragøy and vegetables from local farms like Nordvoll. With short-haul suppliers as our partners, we ensure freshness and support the local community. We create each dish from scratch, and our menu evolves in step with nature's own season. Through collaboration with these dedicated producers, we offer dining experiences that are both tasty and sustainable.
It starts in Bodø
Smak already offered an exquisite menu, seasonally based on local ingredients, with elegantly customized drink packages and phenomenal personal service.
Startup in Tromsø
At the bridgehead, in Skippergata, the tasting adventure continued. After a very short time, there was a month's worth of waiting time on the table and the people of Tromdø knew their visiting time.
Taste & Ruda by the sea
Smak moves to the Kræmer Brygge district where every detail is built from scratch - and both the area and the number of employees increase. Sister restaurant Ruda also opens next door with a more affordable brasserie concept.
